This awe-inspiring monument, Borobudur temple (pictured above), is the world’s biggest Buddhist monument. It’s widely considered to be one of the world’s seven wonders. It was built in the 9th century and reflects India's influence on the region, combined with indigenous scenes that make it uniquely Indonesian.

Prambanan (right) consists of Prambanan Temple (also called Loro Jonggrang), Sewu Temple, Bubrah Temple and Lumbung Temple. The complex comprises 240 temples that form the Prambanan Archaeological Park. They were built during Sailendra’s powerful dynasty in Java in the 8th century AD.
